Michael Poku, MD

Michael Poku, MD, MBA is a senior medical director for Oak Street Health, a network of primary care centers that deliver value-based care to adults on Medicare. Michael is passionate about developing and implementing novel care models and is a proponent of “whole-person care”. Prior to his time at Oak Street, Michael was at Signify Health. Michael also holds clinical faculty positions at the Methodist Health System in Dallas and UT Southwestern. Michael has past experiences in management consulting at McKinsey and company where he worked in the healthcare payer and provider space; he also has experiences in intellectual property management, VC/PE, and healthcare operations and strategy. Outside of work, Michael enjoys supporting non-profit organizations volunteering, and serving on the board. Of late, he has been convinced by his wife to foster dogs over the past several months.

Michael holds a doctorate from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
